We are looking for an immediate joiner who meets the below qualifications for the 2D/3D Design Engineer role.
Position Overview:The 2D/3D Design Engineer is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, models, and designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software to support engineering and manufacturing processes.
The role involves translating conceptual ideas into precise and manufacturable designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Drafting:
2D and 3D CAD models and technical drawings based on project specifications
Create assembly drawings, parts lists, and detailed design documentation.
Collaboration:
Work closely with engineers, product designers, and other stakeholders to understand design requirements.
Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into designs
Prototyping and Testing:
Ensure designs meet industry standards, tolerances, and quality requirements.
Conduct feasibility studies, stress analysis, and material selection for designs as required.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of designs, revisions, and documentation in the company’s database.
Prepare and present design reports, progress updates, and recommendations to the project team.
Software and Tools:
Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar tools for 2D/3D modeling.
Stay updated with the latest design tools and techniques.
Continuous Improvement:
Propose innovative design solutions to enhance product functionality and reduce production costs.
Monitor trends and advancements in design engineering and integrate them into the workflow.
Skills and Qualifications
Educational Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
Technical Proficiency:
Expertise in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar).
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and tolerances.
Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Experience:
1–5 years of experience in 2D/3D design engineering or a similar role.
Experience in industries like automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, or consumer goods is a plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Attention to detail and a focus on precision.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in advanced CAD tools.
Experience in simulation and finite element analysis (FEA).
Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems.
Work Environment
Office-based with occasional visits to manufacturing or client sites.
May require extended hours to meet project deadlines.
